Ali Oops,
Where did it all begin?
I began by throwing
three balls up in the air and dropping them a lot
and I progressed to club juggling, diablo, pois,
clubswinging, unicycling, stiltwalking, doing
performances and running workshops. Inspired by
others and occasional courses I learned the
skills I now have. I ran a juggling club, co-ran
a community circus, had a post as EAZ Circus
Tutor in Plymouth and currently teach circus
skills at Callington Community College.
Where does it
end?
When I have juggled
on the moon.

What is in the
middle?
Probably lots of
Cake.
Currently :-
-working at
Callington Community College, Cornwall, teaching
circus skills.
- running a
children's circus project with Emerge Physical
Theatre
- currently run
Calstock Unicycle Club.
- enjoying creating
walkabout stilt creatures.
Any extra special
bits?
We have just come
back from a three month residency by the Red Sea
in Egypt. Our brand of wacky stiltacts and
balloon modelling went down a treat with a mixed
audience of Europeans / Egyptians / Russians. It
was a brilliant adventure and our children had a
great time.

About 6 years ago I
worked as a volunteer in Cambodia.
My friend and I ran a project
working and performing with deaf children in
Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The children we worked
with were fantastic.

How would you like to end
this interview.
With a quote from a
paper."Oprah, Martha, Nigella: what do they
all have in common? Like all working women they
had to juggle to survive"

That was Ali Oops,
children's performer and circus tutor.
Ali performs currently as
a stiltwalking creature, available for all sorts
of events.
